Dear fellow members of the Holland America Club
 =

This is the last month of the year and a very busy time for all of us.

I suggest checking the website of HAC to check starting times and places=
 of events since some of them have changed.

Our biggest event for the children is Sinterklaas and again this year he=
 will be coming to our party on Dec 5 in Dallas.  He is a very busy man,=
 I know, last weekend he was in Toronto; our granddaughter had her pictu=
re taken with him. He must accumulate a lot of air miles! But it is alwa=
ys such a nice time; I play my St Nicolaas CD=92s and in the privacy of =
my home sing the songs.  My poor family!!!


Our next event is the annual Ladies' White Elephant evening.  It draws a=
 very rambunctious crowd with lots of laughs. This year it is in my hous=
e in McKinney and I would urge all the ladies to attend.  Carpool with l=
adies that live close to you.


I am very close to both 121 and 75.  My house is very easy to find and i=
f you get lost call me and I help you find your way.
The date is Dec 14, starting at 7PM.  The ladies will bring a dish to sh=
are and have a wrapped present of $15 to $20.  We decided to have the th=
eme of "Wine and Cheese" for the presents.  So that could be anything re=
lated to this theme.


The board had a discussion about having a Christmas party or no Christma=
s party and I am afraid that again this year we will not be having a par=
ty.  It is always difficult to find a location our members are busy with=
 their own parties and time is short, there are only three weekends befo=
re Christmas. And there are already two events planned during  the month=
 of December.

 As usual we have the New Years reception in January.

Again it  will be held at Henk=92s European Deli on January 6th at 7 PM.=


Kars Tamminga and Lammert de Haan will be doing their kitchen duty and b=
ring out the oliebollen for all of us to consume.   This is our HAC Memb=
ers =96 Adults only event =


At the last board meeting we also brought up the fact that we need peopl=
e for the nominating committee and candidates for a place on the board. =
A separate email was sent regarding this yesterday.  Please consider, it=
 is very rewarding job and very much needed.

 The board wishes all our members a nice holiday season and for the comi=
ng year
