WOW..........the April 17 'Nature Walk' at Jetty & Lammert de Haan's=20
"Rooster Ranch" was a lot of fun and a great success !
About 90 folks attended this well organized outdoor event while enjoying su=
nny,
breezy weather with a comfortable temperature.
=A0
"Rooster Ranch" is a large, beautiful property in Waxahachie. During our wa=
lk we
encountered some hills, lots of trees, peaceful ponds and creeks.
Many bluebonnets and other wild flowers were blooming; so great photo's wer=
e=20
taken of those purple fields.
=A0
Before the walk we were treated to coffee and delicious fresh slagroom, cho=
colate
or=A0mocha cake from Henk's. Mmmh....it tasted so good ! Smullen dus...
=A0
After the about one hour walk, with a rest break including drinks at a tran=
quil pond,
Mr. Kars, Ms. Alice and others fried kroketten and patat for us. Potato sal=
ad, hot dogs
and drinks were served also=A0on a huge=A0shaded patio.
=A0
The Swiss club had three alpine horn musicians play several songs for us. M=
any had
never seen or heard those big and=A0long horns in action...live. They sound=
ed great !
=A0
Many animals; like geese,turkeys, monkeys [yes...I said apen], peacocks and=
 a
huge white 'polar bear' dog call "Rooster Ranch" their home. I kept waiting=
 for a couple
dinosaurs to appear from behind a hill on this spectacular oasis.

The many kids had so much fun jumping on the build into a hill trampoline a=
s well as climbing=A0 on a huge wooden play structure over a sandpit.=A0Our=
 son Nathan looked like
'zwarte piet' after playing hard for several hours. They has a lot of fun..=
..

I would like to give many thanks to our hosts Jetty and Lammert de Haan for=
 their
hospitality, sharing their tremendous ranch with us and making us feel at h=
ome at their kasteel.
=A0
Special thanks also to our HAC board and all the volunteers whom made this =
Sunday so incredible special and enjoyable. It was erg gezellig !!

I hope to see you at our next event, the annual meeting,=A0on May 14 in Sou=
thlake,=20
if I am not flying the friendly Central/South-American and/or Caribbean ski=
es out of Miami.
