Sinterklaas Feest

Speciaal voor de kindertjes van de Holland America Club komt Sint Nicolaas ook dit jaar weer naar Texas. Iedereen is uitgenodigd om het verjaardagsbezoek van Sinterklaas samen met zijn Pieten te vieren in de Richland Hills Community Center op Zondag, 4 December, vanaf 12:00 uur tot 14.30 uur.Sint Nicolaas is once again coming to Texas this year, especially for the children of the Holland-America Club. Everybody is invited to celebrate the birthday of Sinterklaas together with his helpers at the Richland Hills Community Center on Sunday, December 4 from noon until 2:30 pm.

In afwachting van de aankomst van Sint Nicolaas kunnen de kinderen zich naar hartelust uitleven met knutselen, tekenen, het luisteren naar verhaaltjes en het zingen van liedjes. Natuurlijk worden de spekulaas, pepernoten, kruidnoten … voor jong en oud niet vergeten!
Ook zal er dan lunch geserveerd worden met broodjes, kerstbrood, en fruit. While waiting for the arrival of Sint Nicolaas the children can really enjoy themseves with art, drawing, listening to stories and singing Sinterklaas songs. Naturally the special Dutch goodies have not been forgotten! Also lunch will be served with sandwiches, Christmas bread, and fruit.

Dit jaar zal tante Kay in het Engels voorlezen zodat de niet-Nederlandse ouders het ook kunnen verstaan.
Tante Grace zal de kinderen bij het zingen begeleiden met de accordeon.Aunt Kay will read stories this year, but this time in English, so that the non-Dutch parents can understand.
Aunt Grace will accompany the children with the accordion when they are singing.

De kleurwedstrijd is een van de tradities van onze Club. Dit jaar laten we de kinderen zelf kreatief zijn en vragen hen, om vooraf thuis, of terwijl ze op Sinterklaas wachten, een zelf getekend en gekleurd portret van Sinterklaas met zijn zwarte Pieten te maken. Sinterklaas zal zelf uitzoeken, per leeftijdsgroep, wie het mooiste portretje heeft gemaakt. Schrijft U a.u.b. naam en leeftijd van Uw kind op het portretje.One of the traditions of our club is the coloring contest. This year we let the children be creative and ask them, to make in advance at home, or while waiting for Sinterklaas, a portrait of Sinterklaas with his black Pieters, which they themselves have drawn and colored. Sinterklaas will decide, per age group, who has made the winning portrait. Please write the name and age of the child on the picture.

Voor de ouders: Brengt U een kado mee voor Uw kind dat maximum $20 kost. Het kado moet ingepakt zijn met duidelijke vermelding van de naam van het kind.Attention parents: Bring a gift for your child costing no more than $20. The gift must be wrapped with the name of the child clearly written on the package.

All children (2 year and younger are free)
      Members and Non-Members: $6 per child
Adults
      Members (and all relatives): $6 per person
      Non-Members (and all relatives): $12 per adult

• The club welcomes Guests of Members and all Non-Members who are interested in joining the club.
