We would like to invite all ladies of the Holland-America Club to join us for the
“Annual White Elephant Party”.
The hostess this year is Meta Evenbly.
The term “White Elephant” possibly originated in Thailand, where white elephants are sacred. The King of Thailand had the right to take every white elephant and replace it with a grey elephant. The recipient had to honor this exchange and keep the grey
elephant alive no matter the cost. Therefore, traditional “White Elephant gifts” are often inconvenient gifts that nobody wants.
At the “White Elephant Party” of the Holland-America Club the original rules have been changed. We don’t trade elephants or inconvenient gifts; we play the game the American way. Part of the fun is “stealing” the gift from somebody else !
Everybody who would like to attend is asked to bring a gift for the gift exchange and a “festive” appetizer to share.
TABLE DECORATIONS
This year's theme for the gifts is: table decorations, seasonal or non-seasonal. The suggested price range for the gift is $15 to $20. This makes for a nice choice of gifts such as: table linens, dishes, decorations both seasonal and non-seasonal and anything else you think will go on a table.
Try to be creative and bring a gift that you would like to receive yourself.

It is simpler than it sounds. There are just three steps.
